It’s winter in the Rockies, and even the sportiest snow bunnies can use a little fun in the sun. With a short two-hour plane flight or a more ambitious 10-hour road trip, a gal can find herself frolicking in fabulous Las Vegas. And while we typically find the whole scene to be a bit, well…much, our recent getaway to the HRH Towers proved that the Hard Rock is all grown up and ready for the jet set.
With chic appointments at every turn, HRH Towers screams opulence. The more refined wing of the popular Hard Rock property, the Towers boast an all-suite collection of rooms that are spacious, sophisticated and sexy. The 374 suites and penthouses start at 700 square feet of luxury, and range to nearly 5,000 square feet of sheer indulgence. Tech-savvy guests will revel in the Sound Bar, a touch screen jukebox that, in grand Hard Rock style, is preprogrammed with more than 2,000 songs. Two 40” LCD televisions also appoint the room, each separating the living and sleeping quarters. Guests enter through a private “HRH Tower” entrance, delivering a sense of privacy from the main section of the hotel that will instantly propel you to rockstar status.
35 Steaks + Martinis
New to the Hard Rock property is the tony 35 Steaks + Martinis, an upscale eatery that blends the classic steakhouse concept with a rock & roll twist. All of the joint’s signature steaks are aged a namesake 35 days, and sides such as Applewood bacon creamed spinach appoint the impressive menu. The equally impressive libations are not to be missed, with a to-die-for cucumber gimlet serving as one of the lounge’s best-known cocktails and a wine list that includes labels from rock icons like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Executive Chef Chris Noble effortlessly fuses classic elegance with edgy, more daring choices, the result of which is nothing short of stellar. In fact, we maintain that it’s the best meal we’ve had in recent memory.
P.S. Best. Service. Ever.
Whether you’re in need of TLC from a quintessential Vegas night, or you simply require a bit of pampering during your stay, Hard Rock’s Reliquary Spa is just the ticket. Modeled after an ancient European bathhouse, the spa opens with a co-ed soaking pool flanked by cabana-like banquettes. Tucked to either side are his and hers locker rooms, both well-appointed with spacious showers, steam rooms, saunas and whirlpools. The decadent haven boasts 21 treatment rooms, perfect for indulging in innovative therapies like the Turkish Ritual – a vigorous exfoliating scrub followed by a sudsy massage – or the Heavy Metal Wrap – a body treatment that leaves your skin glimmering with your choice of copper, silver or gold mineral powder. Reliquary also offers a range of organic body and skin therapies, as well as a salon and juice bar.
Every good vacation involves retail therapy, and Love Jones, the sexy little lingerie store housed inside the Hard Rock, delivers in all of its Las Vegas glory. With top-of-the-line lingerie and hosiery from designers Elle Macpherson, Blush and Eberjey, Love Jones is equal parts sexy and sophisticated. Not your mother’s lingerie boutique, the store also carries erotic art by world-renowned photographer Helmut Newton. Gals looking for something a little less alluring can also shop from a sweet collection of jewelry and accessories by names like Betsey Johnson, Tarina Tarentino and Silver Dagger.
Not without its fair share of venues in which to imbibe (after all, it is Las Vegas), Hard Rock’s Vanity Nightclub is the perfect backdrop for those looking to get their groove on. With pearl, crystal, and gold décor, Vanity is a life-size jewel box ready to host your evening of decadence. A sunken dance floor welcomes fashionistas and socialites while 50 intimate VIP booths help the starlets party in privacy.
