The Journey: Leigh Anne Tuohy
While some may associate the Junior League with ladies who lunch, modern day leaguers are anything but. And nowhere is this more evident than in Denver’s 2,000+ strong chapter – one filled with women more apt to don surgical gloves than white gloves and to show off their pearls of wisdom, not a simple strand around the neck.
This month, Junior League of Denver is stepping out with a new fundraiser – The Journey: Honoring Our Past…Looking to Our Future. The February 28th event brings keynote speaker Leigh Anne Tuohy to the Mile High City to reveal the woman behind the inspirational mom played by Sandra Bullock in the blockbuster film, The Blind Side. With a story as colorful as her handbag collection, Tuohy is loved and lauded for her candid, no-holds barred approach to philanthropy, and to life.
Guests will be inspired by Leigh Anne’s captivating story and will also hear from Colorado leaders like Lt. Governor Joe Garcia and Mile High United Way President & CEO Christine Benero. The Journey, which takes place over cocktails and cuisine, benefits JLD’s literacy focus and funds raised enable to organization to provide substantial financial and volunteer support that ultimately puts books and tools into the hands of Denver’s most underprivileged families.
