That’s the Spirit
The NFL playoffs are here, and that means it’s time to cheer on our beloved Broncos while they march one step closer to that Super Bowl. Even if you’re not a die hard football fan- if there’s a reason to celebrate, there’s always a reason to throw a party. We scouted Pinterest to put together the perfect inspiration board to get you in the Broncos spirit and truly throw a bash for the books. Here are our tips to assure a seamless (and stylish) game day soiree.
That’s the Spirit
Working with a theme makes for a simple and exciting day of decorating, but it also makes it easy to get stuck on only two colors: orange and blue. Make sure you throw in fun, bold prints to add a little something extra to the aesthetic of your space without making everything look too uniformed. Keep in mind tablecloths, plates and platters, glassware, cocktail napkins, coasters, straws, food labels, etc.
This ticket inspired invite is creative and straight to the point. If you want to dress it up a little, add a fun border or background!
3. Dress Code:
Set a dress code for your soirée. The Broncos have extremely loyal fans, and there’s no telling if someone may show up with no shirt and face paint. Spare yourself and your guests the sight by setting a dress code. Our favorite go-to is “Ivy League.” Your guests will show up in their preppiest of garments with a Broncos twist. Think Denver football pride meets J. Crew and Ralph Lauren.
Just because it’s game day, doesn’t mean a girl needs to serve pizza and wings. This specific party calls for tasteful bites. Appetizers that are more along the lines of cheese plates, bruschetta, and prosciutto wrapped melon. Heavier food (like sliders and hot dogs) can also be served, but presentation is crucial-festive platters and garnish are the way to go.
A signature cocktail is always a crowd pleaser, and this Bourbon Blood Orange Ginger Fizz Recipe is the perfect fit.
For the Ginger Simple Syrup:
1 Cup Water
½ Cup Honey
1 oz Fresh Ginger, Peeled and Thinly Sliced
For the Bourbon Blood Orange Ginger Fizz:
4 oz Ginger Ale
2 oz Breckenridge Bourbon Whiskey
1 ½ oz Blood Orange Juice
1 oz Ginger Simple Syrup
½ oz Lemon Juice
Add the simple syrup to the Bourbon Blood Orange Ginger Fizz, gently stir, and indulge over ice.
6. Dessert Bar:
Dessert is where all the fun is- there is an infinite amount of ideas to incorporate a football theme when it comes to desserts. Football formed ice cream sandwiches or rice crispy treats, cookies molded and decorated into each and every shape, and copious amounts of colorful cupcakes leaves you and every one of your guests more than satisfied. Still feel like something’s missing? A candy bar makes for oh-so-darling tablescape decorations and well, who doesn’t love candy? Call the gals at Sugarlicious in Cherry Creek, their candy bars are second to none!
7. Throw Pillows:
If you’re really feeling ambitious, and you need that cherry to go on top, change up your living room décor as well. These throw pillows or even a throw blanket will be the perfect finishing touch for your bash. Another plus? You’ll adore your new throws so much that they will be a Broncos season staple in your home!
