Megen Musegades

  1. My job allows me to be pretty much anywhere most of the year. One of my favorite places in Boulder to get a yummy cappuccino, open my laptop and dig in, is The Laughing Goat. The name alone makes you want to hang out there.
  2. Shoes. I love shoes. All shoes. High ones, low ones, flip flops, boots. I do tend to wear flats most of the time, they’re the most comfortable, while still being cute. I just bought a bright kelly green pair for my collection.
  3. Pinterest has become my latest addiction. There are so many fun boards on that site. You can get sucked into searching for fun outfits, home decoration ideas and good recipes to try for longer than I’d care to admit.
  4. My absolute favorite perfume is Falling In Love by Philosophy. It smells like candy, but not too strong, just delicately sweet.
  5. My cat, Paco. I’d never been a cat person, until I met mine at an animal shelter in Harlem, NY. He travels everywhere with me and usually by car, from NYC to CO to CA. He is a gigantic Maine Coon. He behaves like a dog much of the time, following me around the house and get’s so excited whenever I come home. Adopting a pet from an animal shelter is such a great thing, they need you as much as you need them.
  6. The George, in Vail, is the best locals bar around. After a long day of work, we collapse at the George and enjoy happy hour nachos and some tasty Guinness.
  7. Aveda. I have super thick, long hair and they have every product I could ever need to tame it. My favorites are Brilliant Shampoo, Color Conserve Conditioner and Brilliant anti-humectant pomade. Mmm, they smell so good.
  8. I love indie film! I love finding up-and-coming directors, actors and writers. Independent film breaks rules. The film festival has allowed me to completely indulge in my passion for film. This years line-up promises to deliver heart, laughter and of course, lots of great drama. We kick off the festival with the US Premiere of The Eye of the Storm, starring Geoffrey Rush.
  9. My favorite way to end a work week is sitting around a table with family and friends, enjoying a nice glass of red wine and telling stories and laughing until you look at your watch and can’t believe how late it is, then you pour one more glass.
  10. Brunch is my absolute favorite meal of the day. You can’t go wrong with a Foolish Craig’s breakfast. I love getting one of their omelettes and a large hot chocolate with whipped cream, of course.
  11. Along with indie film, indie music is another favorite. I feel so lucky that my favorite musicians from LA’s Hotel Cafe come out to the film festival every year for the annual Friday Night Concert. This year we have Sara Bareilles, Cary Brothers, Greg Laswell, Harper Blynn, Laura Jansen, Javier Dunn & Buddy. Hoorah for singer-songwriters!
  12. If I had to pick one store that shows my style, it would be Anthropologie. The store makes me feel like home whenever I walk in there. Their clothes and home goods are fun and casual and just make me happy. If it looks like I’m going to be having a stressful day, I’ll pull out my yellow pants from Anthropologie because dressing cheerful, helps my mood stay positive.
