Puttin’ on the Ritz

It’s no secret that we’re fans of the Ritz-Carlton’s stunning Bachelor Gulch property just outside of Beaver Creek. From its ultra private location on a peak all its own, to its quintessentially (and cozy) mountain architecture to its world-class spa (we think it’s the best in Colorado), the property captured our hearts long ago. This season, they’re taking our love affair over the top with a bevy of offerings for every type of traveler.

Holiday Hoopla – The 12 Days of Wonder are hosted just for guests from December 21-January 1 with holiday activities throughout the week including a special Vail Jazz performance.

Amazing Après: If you thought the Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch après ski experience was great… just wait. This season, the luxury destination will debut a Moët Champagne and raw bar après ski experience on the mountain-facing, outdoor terrace where guests will sip sparkling cocktails while warming up by the roaring outdoor fire.

WYLD Culinary Experiences: The hotel recently welcomed Chef Jasper Schneider as new Executive Chef, bringing over 25 years of culinary experience – from New York to the Caribbean islands – to guests. Chef Jasper has crafted new, spectacular dishes to try, including Duck Breast with parsnip, green lentil confit and huckleberry jus, Venison Loin with leek, maitake and juniper or Maine Diver Scallops with cauliflower almond raisin ragout in a yuzu brown vinaigrette.

First Prints Program: New this year, The Ritz will offer guests the opportunity to explore the mountain in an early morning, “First Prints” snowshoe adventure with “Bachelor,” the hotel’s Saint Bernard who serves as the adorable, official canine ambassador and pack-leader of the pet-friendly resort.

Anderson’s Cabin: Experience the history of Bachelor Gulch by reserving an exclusive, private dining experience at Anderson’s Cabin, tucked into the woods and once the home of John Anderson, one of the seven bachelors that first settled in the area.

Serenity at the Spa: Catch up on some much-needed R&R at the world-class, 21,000-square-foot spa where 19 treatment rooms, a nail salon, co-ed rock grottos with flowing water, steam rooms, saunas and both hot and cold plunge pools await.

Ritz Kids: Plan a memorable stay for your little ones with an in-room camping experience complete with a mini teepee and s’mores galore. Add in the heated year-round pool, daily visits from Bachelor the canine ambassador, a free game room and a full Ritz Kids “camp” program and the winter vacay ante is officially upped.

Luxury Ski-In and Out: With slope-side access and more than 1,800 acres of terrain for the whole family, the resort offers the most luxe ski experience in Colorado. Watch the kids learn to ski using the “magic carpet” while warming up by the outdoor fire-pit. Also be sure to take advantage of the in-house Ski Concierge, Ski Nanny, Ski Outfitter and onsite ticket office.
