Luxe for Less
Tomorrow marks the official marriage of two retail greats. A match made in fashion heaven, Target and Neiman Marcus stores have partnered to create a holiday collection that represents the best, brightest and most coveted names in design. And frankly, we haven’t been this excited about a union since we spotted our first glimpses of Kate Middleton’s McQueen gown.
With Neiman Marcus brands at Target prices, the collection, which features 24 of America’s preeminent designers—all members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)—will be available Dec. 1 at both the tony department store and the value-driven mega store, as well as online at Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com. What’s more, Target and Neiman Marcus are donating a total of $1 million to the CFDA.
With names ranging from Tory Burch to Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar de la Renta to Marchesa and Marc Jacobs we predict that mile high fashionistas will be lined up boy band style outside both Denver retailers at the crack of dawn (hint: Neiman Marcus is opening its Cherry Creek doors at 8 AM to coincide with all Denver-area Target store openings). Prices start at $7.99 for a chic little roll of Rodarte wrapping paper and go up to $499 for an Alice + Olivia bicycle. Most items hover around the oh-so-reasonable $60 range (we’re eyeing a $50 DVF yoga mat and a $70 Lela Rose top).
And while it may not be saving the planet or solving the world’s problems, we find the collaboration to be noble in more ways that one. After all, we all deserve great style and thanks to this brilliant partnership, everyone can know the spring that a Derek Lam slipper can put in your step and the twinkle that a pair of Brian Atwood sunglasses will put in your eye.
