Happy 40th, Drew
Back in the 1980s, it was no guarantee that Drew Barrymore would reach her 21st birthday, let alone her 40th. The Hollywood wild child was living life in the fast lane at an alarmingly early age. Thankfully she turned things around and has a successful career, a production company in Flower Films and is now a wife and mother of two. The sky’s the limit with this entertainment icon.
Today, by the way, is birthday number 40. You sure wouldn’t know it. The bubbly, intelligent, thoughtful soul has always been young at heart and we think this entrance into a new decade will bring her best yet. In fact, she told Elle back in 2010 about getting older, “I don’t want to be vain or fearful, and I don’t think I’ll do anything [in terms of plastic surgery], but if I want to do something, I will. From my perspective, there’s no reason to be afraid of aging, because if you age, you’re lucky! The alternative is death.”
In honor of today’s birthday girl, here’s a look throughout the years at a one-of-a-kind spirit who’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.
If it seems like Drew Barrymore has been in the public eye forever, it’s because she has. She’s still the youngest person to ever host Saturday Night Live when she did it back in 1982 at age 7. We’ve seen her grow and mature through all of her ups and downs while becoming the actress, model, producer, director, author, philanthropist, wife and mother that she is today.
Enjoy your special day, Drew. No doubt it is one of many.
